Your Visit

We have instituted many new elements of our exam process as a result of the recent pandemic. Your experience may be quite a bit different than what you are used to. Please take a moment to read about the highlights here.

We have enabled virtual check-in procedures. Upon scheduling, our staff will need to verify your insurance information. If you do not want to interact at all with the front desk, you will need to send a photo of your insurance card and photo ID to frontdesk@korbassociates.com.

We make every effort to assist you in determining whether you have insurance benefits for glasses and/or contacts. We attempt to do this when the visit is being scheduled, but not uncommonly it is necessary to wait for this information. If we cannot provide an answer for you immediately, you can request that we email or text you about your plans material benefits. Alternatively, you can phone your insurance company or human resources department on your own. Please let us know your preference.

Our staff will need to confirm your contact information and the preferred method of communication with our office. Once optional, this now provides you with a critical link to our office so you can confirm/cancel or reschedule your visit, inform us when you arrive for your visit, enable touchless payment systems, and allow us to contact you if there has been a possible COVID exposure. Text and email have evolved into being the most efficient methods of securely communicating with our office staff. Of course, we are still available by phone. If our lines are all busy, leave a message and we will return your call as promptly as possible.

If you wish, you can sign up for access to your health record. Not only will you have a method for HIPAA compliant communications with our doctors and staff, but you can also view billing statements, and prescriptions for glasses, contacts, and medication.

If you are interested in looking at some new glasses, a visit with the optician will be scheduled either before or after your visit with the doctor.

In order to reduce the amount of time in the office, you will have the option of having a pre-visit prior to your appointment to review your health status, medications, and concerns you would like to discuss. You can also schedule a pre-visit with the optician to discuss which lenses will best fit your lifestyle and vision needs. Please inform the scheduling staff if you would like to take advantage of this option.

In addition, here are some additional helpful tips:

* List of sports/hobbies in which you participate
* If you are wearing bifocals, progressive lenses, or reading glasses, measure the distance from your eyes to any work areas, particularly the computer or music
* For new patients, bring all glasses and contact lenses, your current contact lens prescription or contact lens box or bottle, or previous eye care records including lens specifications
* Please remove eye cosmetics prior to the exam
